Manifolds

What Is Solid Phase Extraction?

Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) is a chromatographic technique designed for rapid, selective sample preparation and purification prior to chromatographic analysis.  Using liquid chromatography principles to control selectivity, SPE provides the sample clean-up, recovery, and concentration necessary for accurate quantitative analysis.

MSE Vacuum Manifolds

MSE designed 3 sets of unique manifolds that differentiate in 12, 20 and 24 port systems.  Each vacuum manifold was designed to perform sample extractions in an efficient manner.  MSE’s manifolds do not require a waste liner to extract the remaining waste of samples.  Instead, the vacuum extracts the waste and empties that undesired part of the sample into a glass basin.

12, 20 and 20XL Port Manifolds

12, 20 and 20XL Port Features:

  • 12, 20 and 20XL place positions for luer tip SPE columns
  • Simple tip replacement design allows for easy use of stopcocks or disposable needle tips.
  • Vacuum gauge with control and release valves for monitoring and adjustment of vacuum level
  • A choice of five racks to accommodate a variety of collection vessels; 12, 20 and 20-XL port and custom designs
  • Three-point interlocking system to insure proper orientation for racks, keying cartridge position to corresponding collection vessel
  • Chemically resistant, non-contaminating construction glass, polyethylene, polypropylene, and DelRin components
  • Individually controlled, needle-tipped valves (stopcocks), permit flow control of each position
  • Glass chamber is use so the operator can observe the collection of elute in the test tubes, monitoring the progress of sample preparation.

Vacuum Manifolds are supplied with:

  • Glass chamber with exit valve
  • White cover with polyethylene gasket, vacuum gauge, control and release valves
  • Disposable polypropylene needle tips (12 or 20)
  • Stopcock valves (12 or 20)
  • Male Luer plugs (12 or 20)
  • Ejector tool
  • Rack (12, 20, 20-XL)

24 Port Round Glass

24 Port Round Glass Features

  • The unique dual position lid allows the user either the “waste” or “collect” mode.
  • In the “waste” position, the solvent flow through the waste funnel to an external vacuum trap, keeping the sample collection area clean.
  • In the “collect” position, the sample needle tips direct the purified eluent into the sample collection tubes avoiding cross contamination.
  • 24-Position manifold allows for increased sample throughout.
  • The glass vacuum basin eliminates guesswork – you know when sample collection is completed.
  • The waste funnel can be removed and cleaned whenever necessary.
  • Replaceable stainless steel needle tips or polypropylene needle tips provide durability and flexibility.
  • A selection of collection racks allows you to use the appropriate collection vials for your analysis.
  • Each unit include: 30 polypropylene needle tips, 30 stainless steel needle tips, 30 luer plugs, 6 elastic lid fastener and 1 needle tip ejector.

Various Collection Rack/Funnel

  • For 10 x 75 mm test tubes
  • For 13 x 75 mm test tubes
  • For 13 x 100 mm test tubes
  • For 16 x 75 mm test tubes
  • For 16 x 100 mm test tubes
  • For 12 or 15 conical
